The Empire offers the Jewel six reel film Forbidden with Mildred Harris in the lead. A Harold Lloyd one reel comedy plays alongside at 10 15 and 20 cents including tax.
The matinee of Evangeline at the Empire drew a good sized audience and favorable praise for the dramatic visualization of Longfellow’s poem. Evening shows at 7 30 and 9 00 are expected to be packed with admission 15 20 and 30 cents plus tax. Miss Emma Howard Wight will deliver Prayer Amidst the War Ruins during intermission before the first show ends near 8 55.
A quiet Sunday morning ceremony united Miss Mary Beulah Clowser and Mr. Noel Conrad Williams at the Lutheran parsonage in Bloom. Rev. H. E. H. Sloop officiated and the couple then hosted a reception at the bride’s home in Williams, Virginia.
