Frederick Circuit Court granted a temporary injunction restraining several individuals from cutting timber on five tracts owned by the late J. E. Richards in Mountain Falls Frederick county. Death takes Mrs. Annie M. Whitacre in Frederick county
Mrs Annie M Whitacre prominent Frederick county resident died shortly after arriving at her daughter Mrs RS Loy 319 Amherst street from a heart attack. She was 71 turning 72 on February 11 1866 she had spent last winter as a patient at Memorial Hospital for a chronic heart ailment and had just returned home to Whitacre to be near her physician. Brookings Completes Chapters on Government Reorganization
Brookings Institution has submitted two more chapters of its study for the Senate select committee on executive agencies. The report covers government activities in Public Supply and Property and in Mineral Resources and Power with recommendations to consolidate federal power activities into a single independent agency and to create a Federal Power Administration. The proposal would absorb the Federal Power Commission the Public Works power division the Rural Electrification Administration and the Electric Home and Farm Authority. The study warns that separating the Securities and Exchange Commission from the Federal Power Commission could impair effectiveness and calls for a joint board for overlapping powers.
