Compromise Sets Easement for Appalachian Trail at 60 Feet Near Dorms
Robinson convened officials from VPI EDA National Park Service and the trail club to resolve trail setbacks. A 60 foot easement near dormitories creates a 250 foot buffer from building corners while relocating the trail eastward toward the center of the easement. The park service and club will fund a survey, and the center will add evergreen screening and new access trails. Construction may resume once a signed agreement is delivered, with no fencing planned.
