Plane Crashes In California Killing Two Army Crew
Fairfax Calif May 16 Two men were killed and six were critically injured when a four engine Army B 17 bomber ran out of fuel and crashed three miles west of Fairfax Los Angeles to near Hamilton Field. The pilot and co pilot escaped the wrecked cabin and called Hamilton Field at 205 am PST. Blood plasma was rushed to the scene and later the plane was cut open to reach trapped crew members. All aboard were believed Army personnel. The injured were transported to Hamilton Field Hospital where one had a fractured skull and another a broken jaw.
