Federal Report on Winter Wheat Causes Setback
Chicago May 16 prospects that 1925 winter wheat yield will exceed unofficial figures by about 20 million bushels have caused a sharp setback in wheat prices this week though May delivery remains unchanged. Compared with a week ago July and September wheat declined 4 to 6 cents, corn off ½ to 2½ cents, oats down ½ to 1 cent, and provisions varied 17 to 60 cents. The crop report indicates smaller winter wheat production than last year but a much larger volume than many expected.
