Nikita Khrushchev and Nikolai Bulganin will meet Yugoslav President Tito in Belgrade late this month. The talks precede a proposed Big Four East West conference this summer and aim to improve relations with Yugoslavia.
B F Goodrich plans a new one story yellow brick and glass building at 124 138 S Loudoun St on the Herman Hable property. It will replace the former 106 S Loudoun St location and open around July 1. The site formerly housed an inn and tavern, later an apartment, meat market and auto agencies. Parking for about 65 cars will be provided with driveways from Loudoun and Cork Streets.
After a week long halt for safety recheck ing the government resumes mass inoculations with Parke Davis vaccine for over a million more children. State health officers approve immediate restart as 11 vaccine batches cleared by the Public Health Service and some states begin Monday.
Appalachian Apple Service estimates an 18 million bushel apple crop across Virginia Maryland West Virginia and Pennsylvania down from last season by 6 to 7 million. The report notes little in commercial apples south of Virginia with northern areas improving to average yields while early freezes affect Michigan and Midwest crops. Washington bloom is heavy and late slowing eastern market arrivals until November benefiting Virginia growers.
Danny Shenk of James Wood High School FFA earned the high individual honor with a perfect 300 points as Frederick County youth dominated the beef cattle judging contest at the Farmers' Livestock Exchange west of Winchester. James Wood Senior 4-H led teams with 816.6 points winning $10, others earned small cash prizes.
Washington state apple growers anticipate a 1955 crop of 30 000 to 32 000 cars, the largest since 1950, aided by normal blooms and favorable weather in the Wenatchee Okanogan Yakima region. Last year’s crop was 26 000 cars. Dick Bartrom, Chelan County.
Secretary of State Dulles will announce a Monday night television report from the White House detailing the NATO Paris meeting the Austrian treaty signing and the proposed Big Four meeting. The broadcast will include President Eisenhower and top administration officials with networks airing the event live.
President Eisenhower praises a 30 foot flag pole bearing the Stars and Stripes on his Gettysburg farm front lawn. The gift from the Suffolk County Republican Club of New York State is topped by a gold eagle weather vane. Mrs. Eisenhower’s health appears fully recovered as she and her mother in law join a family birthday celebration.
U S officials see a possible limited disarmament accord with Russia though global atomic controls loom distant. Western plans urge a control organ with permanent access to facilities and unhindered surveys to prevent covert military buildup. Russia counters with opposition to such control powers as London talks continue.
Washington reports General Charles Pelot Summerall died at Walter Reed Hospital at age 88 after months of ill health. He led the Army from 1926 to 1930 and later served as president of The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. He graduated from West Point in 1892 and earned honors in the Philippine Insurrection and Boxer Rebellion.
In Hawthorne New York police arrested 56 year old Celia Freeman mother of Ruth Papazian who died after plunging from a Pacemaker train near Harmon Station. The elder Freeman faced vagrancy and possession of a dangerous weapon charges and was found with a 4 inch carving knife.
Shenandoah College trustees defer action on relocating to Winchester pending a late May joint meeting with the Virginia Conference of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. The report outlined three options including moving, expanding at Dayton, or building projects, with costs cited and local support from Winchester Chamber efforts noted.

At the Virginia Academy of Science meeting in Harrisonburg the copper surface study by Fred Young and Robert E. Cunningham was highlighted showing physical surface changes on catalytic copper. E. S. Harlow of Richmond was named president elect and Dr. Walter S. Flory Jr. installed as president.
Dr. Frank E. Tappan of Berryville was slated to become president elect of the Virginia Academy of General Practice at the officers naming in Hampton today. The academy began its fifth annual assembly yesterday with sessions to conclude at noon.
Soviet Marshal Ivan Konev named supreme commander of an eight nation East European unified force with Moscow as its headquarters. A 20 year mutual security treaty places deputies from the Soviet Union Czechoslovakia Poland Hungary Albania Romania Bulgaria and East Germany under a single command to deter West Germany. The pact opens to new members and runs 20 years with automatic extension unless a participant withdraws.
Aaron Zuckerman of the Zuckerman Wrecking Co. was elected president of the Winchester Junior Chamber of Commerce at the annual officer election. He will succeed Everett Holsinger with installation set for July 8 at the Golden Glow Restaurant on E Gerrard St.
Ten shares of Farmers and Merchants Bank stock fetched $1500 at a public auction before the Frederick County Courthouse yesterday. The sale, to settle the estate of the late Frank Butsler, set a local record for bank stock prices. Tom Halterman bought the shares, while EF. T. Snider announced the auction.
