Charles Cain Dies In Crash Near Pikeside
Charles Randall Cain a 24 year old from 515 South Street died when the car he rode in crashed into a trucks load of seven tons of steel wheel barrows near Pikeside West Virginia last night about 9 30. His companion W J Gardner of Frederic county was injured and guarded at a Martinsburg hospital awaiting transfer to Winchester to face charges for stealing the car. The truck driver J W Largent of Harrisburg Pa owned by Jackson Manufacturing Co. Martinsburg reporters said the truck veered into a ditch to avoid impact. Gardner was not seriously hurt and later tried to escape before Winchester authorities decide charges. Cain had left his home yesterday afternoon and left a note that Gardner would call.
