Man Bleeds to Death in Barn on F H Lam Farm
A stranger believed to be Clark Owens about 67 was found dead in a barn at the F H Lam farm two miles outside City Virginia. He died from a ruptured blood vessel after sleeping in the barn due to an ulcerated leg condition. The body was turned over to the poor overseer for burial. Also, Aunt Martha Ellen Harris widow of George Harris died last Tuesday night at 83 on South Main Street. She was a longtime faithful member of the old school colored Baptist Church and died in the faith she held. Her funeral was held Thursday at 2 pm with wide attendance.
