Another Clarke Man Charged In Forgery Cases

Armistead Sanders, about 30, colored, held on forgery charges in Charles Town for aiding Leonard Banks in counterfeiting. Sanders allegedly drafted forged papers in West Virginia, placing him under WV law, while Banks faces Clarke County grand jury for illegal transactions in Berryville. Banks convicted in Trial Court for obtaining money under false pretenses from Jetson Spates. sentenced to 12 months and costs, with further forgery counts pending.
