At ALVORD Texas a Fort Worth and Denver train struck a car killing six members of the Collins family. Death of War Veteran Charles L. Anderson in Winchester
Charles Leslie Anderson, 42, a Winchester native and World War I veteran, died Sunday at his cousin’s home on the Northwestern grade after a long illness linked to his service. He served with the Seventy-eighth Division in France, was gassed twice and wounded, and later lived in New York. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at 141 North Loudoun Street, with Mount Hebron Cemetery burial and a Robert Y. Conrad Post American Legion guard of honor.
