American Woman Slain Amid China Fighting Near Tsinan
Mrs. William T. Hobbart of the American Methodist Mission near Tsinan was killed April 29 by bullets through a bedroom window during Nationalist and Northerner fighting. She was 68, born in Shing, Long Island, and had lived in China since 1882 with her husband and four children. Cheng Loh expressed hope for Sino Japanese peace, while Tokyo ordered trains to move 20 000 troops and 5 360 others to Shantung.

William Bly, 48, of Tom Brook Shenandoah County Virginia died about 4 o clock this morning at Chester Memorial Hospital. He was brought here for medical treatment Wednesday and was in serious condition at the time. His wife was with him when he died. The body was taken to Tom Brook today.
