Absenteeism rises as industries expand and labor tightens
The National Industrial Conference Board notes higher absentee rates as firms hire green labor, import workers, and extend hours. Sickness and domestic issues boost lost time, with men averaging nine days and women thirteen days off per year. The couple once walked Sheba on a leash and it played with their German shepherd, but the cub grew too large for the 18 month old grandchild.
