In Saigon a US carrier airstrike campaign of Coral Sea and Midway involved more than 160 A4 Skyhawks and AV planes. Five raids targeted Vinh air field and road communications south of Hanoi with over 230 tons of bombs, the largest raid hitting multiple military targets.

Washington AP report says two teenage African American suspects are sought in the fatal holdup shooting of 80 year old civil engineer James Wilmot, a Providence native and Brown University graduate. He was shot four times Friday afternoon as he washed his car in an alley behind his NW Washington home and beaten. His wallet and other valuables were found inside the house.

Donald Dawson a 25 year old merchant marine officer from Costa Mesa California vanished two weeks after returning to the jungle to search for his missing brother Lt Daniel L Dawson a 27 year old Army pilot. A 21 year old Vietnamese student who accompanied them is also believed captured by the Viet Cong.
