Shoemaker escapes custody after police chase

Edwin Shepard of Parkway avenue operator of a filling station on South Loudoun street was found unconscious in his station and died from a fractured skull. Police found money in his pockets and saw no sign of violence or robbery, suggesting a sudden illness caused his fall and head injury.
