Moreland died at Memorial Hospital from a 28 gunshot wound said to have occurred at Pierce’s farm March 17. authorities called the shooting accidental at the time. A warrant charging unlawful felonious intent to kill was served by Sheriff Buckner, Deputy Levi, and Chief Carper. Moreland’s funeral will be Thursday at John H. Enders Funeral Home with interment in Green Hill Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Bitfie Baxter Moreland, two sons Ambrose and Louis Jr., a sister Nimrod Murser, and a brother C. A. Moreland.
