Women submit Nucca contest recipes for $22.50 in prizes
Sixty seven people sent in recipes for the Nucca contest co sponsored by the Retail Grocers Association and the Winchester Evening Star. First prize went to Mrs Oscar Ramsburg Berryville for Two nine inch butterscotch pies worth $10. Second prize $7.50 to Mrs J W Crider for Lemon Cake Pie. Third prize $5 to Miss Alice R Lindstrom for Ice Box Cookies. Honorable mention recipients listed and prize copies of Budget Cook Book. Judges named and winners asked to claim prizes at The Star office. Recipes will be printed periodically and submissions came from many towns.
