The Southern Presbyterian Church reports that fewer than one third of Americans under 26 from Protestant families are in a church or Sunday School. About 12 million unchurched youth live mostly in the South. The assembly's executives note 85 percent of violence crimes involve ages 14 to 25 and call for a stronger home mission push.

Death Strikes A Family Severely
In Lexington Tennessee on May 6 a family tragedy unfolds as three members die in one day. Mrs Ernest Potts 45 and her sister Miss Minnie Middleton 49 died within two hours of each other. Bill Potts 70 father of Ernest died later from a heart attack. Ernest Potts remains dangerously ill with pneumonia.

Greenville, Ga May 6 Cecil Perkerson's fox hunting billy goat rested at home today on charges that lush pasture lured him away during his last run with the hounds. Absent 15 days, the bearded beast was found near St Marks 10 miles from Greenville. Perkerson admitted grazing was excellent in that section but contended the goat stopped there because it was outdistanced by the dogs and could not find its home. Billy he said was glad to see me.
