Ghastly penalty meted out to Blacks who hurt and mur ten described in fragmentary report. Readable details indicate mob violence in Texas with racial motive and subsequent punishment. Authorities unnamed. Further confirmation needed.
In Kirvin Texas a mob of about 500 men burned three Black men, J H Barney Mose Jones and Snap Curry, after they allegedly confessed to harming 17 year old Eula Ansley. The bodies were tied to an iron stake and burned in the town square near two churches as residents watched.
The Associated Press reports Peking recognizes Wu Pei Fu as master of the military situation after General Chang Tso Lin flees toward Mukden. Large parts of Chang's 100,000-strong force are scattered between Peking and Tien Tsin. Wu's move to disarm retreating units proceeds but captures remain unlikely. Casualties near Cuien tallied around 2,500 with similar numbers at Fengtai.
In Peking a government upheaval follows General Wu-Pei-Fu’s military victory. President Hsu-Shih-Chang issues a mandate dismissing Premier Liang Shih-Yi and orders his arrest. Finance Minister Chang-Heu and Communications Minister Yeh-Kung-Cho also dismissed and to be arrested. General Chang Tse-Lin, former Manchu inspector-general, is removed from office. Liang Shih-Yi, now in Tien-Tsin on leave, is charged with conspiring with Chang Tse-Lin to inflame civil war.
The Woodrow Wilson Foundation Fund committee in Winchester reports progress toward the quota as outstanding books and subscriptions are collected. A $25 student gift from Winchester High School arrived. final meeting is planned next Thursday to publish the statement and totals.

Winchester High School defeated Clifton Forge High 10 to 1 on the high school grounds at Harrisonburg before about 600 fans. Patton held Clifton Forge until an eighth inning rally opened the floodgates as Winchester scored six runs. The win earns Winchester the District II Valley title and a spot in the State Athletic League finals at Charlottesville.
