Broadway Seeks Hampshire County Sheriff Nomination
Earl Broadway a 48 year old Hampshire County businessman farmer and pulpwood producer seeks the Democratic nomination for sheriff in the upcoming primary. He plans to lease his tavern and sports club if elected and proposes two full time deputies a night patrol and a factory entrance officer plus volunteer crossing guards for schoolchildren. Broadway is a World War II veteran with multiple commendations including the Silver Star Purple Hearts Bronze Star and a Holland award. He has prior experience as a bread company sales supervisor serving the county.

Sencindiver Named to DMV Post in Virginia System
Winchester native Sencindiver is named executive assistant for Special Citizen Services by DMV Commissioner Hill. He joined as Arlington license examiner in 1948, rose to area supervisor for 11 northern counties by 1967, transferred to Richmond in 1970 as chief examiner, then regional manager, and promoted to Public Education director in 1971, filling Melvin Trice’s vacancy.
