Dubepin May 5 Four more leaders of the Irish rebels were shot by a firing squad at dawn after a court martial. The executed were Joseph Plunkett Edmund Daly Michael O Han-nahan and William Pearse. Plunkett was a signatory of the proclamation declaring Ireland free and independent of England. The others took part in the uprising but were not signers.

Irwin Arnold a veteran driver for the Friendship Fire Company remained slightly better this afternoon at his East Cork Street home after a ladder fall and head impact at the engine house yesterday. He hailed a heavy blood flow last night but the bleeding eased by morning and he is holding his own with limited hearing unless spoken to loudly as friends visit his home.
