Holton Endorsed by Butler and Whitehurst for Senate Run
Former Gov Linwood Holton won endorsements from 6th District Rep M Caldwell Butler and 2nd District Rep G William Whitehurst in a fundraising letter citing his experience for Virginians. John Warner claimed a 46 delegate gap to front runner Richard Obenshain as GOP mass meetings in Radford Roanoke and western Virginia boosted support for convention delegates shaping the June 23 Richmond state nominating vote. Patrick County Republicans also reported mass meetings with multiple uncommitted delegates and 60 votes at stake in the state convention.
