Cooperative Denied Permit To Extend Rural Lines
The Adams Electric Cooperative, Inc. had sought permission to lay rural electrification lines in Frederick and Carroll counties but was denied by the Public Service Commission. The commission found the Potomac Edison Company already serves the area adequately and that the cooperative’s service was not needed for public convenience and necessity. The seven day hearing concluded the utility’s existing lines meet demand and cooperative action would not offer prompt service.
