Cashless Living Sparks Growth in Home Equity and Credit Use
The Sheppards and Pointers rely on homes as savings and primary investments while using little cash. Since 1975 the Sheppards’ $54,500 house has doubled, and the Covina home reflects rapid California market gains. They use credit cards for most purchases, save minimally, and often rely on mortgage and tax payments handled by banks.
