Murder and death by own action feared in Nelson deaths
Greensboro police pursue murder and death by own action theory in the fatal shooting of Victor Nelson a 30 year old radio musician and his 25 year old wife in their apartment. The bodies were found by employer R H Floyd who said he went to the apartment after Nelson failed to report for work. Both victims were found on a bed with Nelson shot through the body and Mrs Nelson killed by a tee wound with a pistol under her hand. The Nelsons were reported to be from Erie Pennsylvania.

Army mail flier dies in Iowa crash amid rainstorm
Lieut. Thomas A. Wood, 27, an army mail flier with home station San Antonio, was killed when an attack plane loaded with 500 pounds of mail crashed four miles north of the Des Moines Omaha route near DeWitt Iowa. The aircraft disappeared in blinding rain and a low ceiling as Wood apparently strayed from the line. Farmers recovered scattered mail pouches and handed them to postal officials.
