Two Funerals in a Day for Mrs Doran in Sacred Heart Rites
Funeral services were held for Mrs Mary Westcamp Doran widow of John Doran at the Church of the Sacred Heart after she died of paralysis and pneumonia at 521 South Washington Street. High mass was led by Rev John McVerry with interment at the Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers included William Keating Thomas O Leary and others. Relatives from Baltimore and Clarke County attended. Mrs Stella Westcamp of Baltimore had died days earlier prompting another funeral.

Born August 6 1915 she was laid to rest at Mount Hebron Cemetery Winchester after a service at her home conducted by Rev Dr W F Gruver United Brethren Church Martinsburg. Her parents and Mr and Mrs Russell Emmonds of Chambersburg Pa and two Cumberland Valley Railroad engineers accompanied the remains. Mr Clem works for the railroad. The child was a granddaughter of Mr and Mrs Jerry Clem of this city.

Stephen Pirkey Dies in Missouri Faculty Member
Prof. Stephen Pirkey aged 55 died at his St. Joseph Missouri home after four days of pneumonia. He leaves a widow and four sons, plus brothers and a half sister in Winchester. Born near Strasburg he later worked at Christian University St. Joseph and with New York Life Insurance in Louisville. Body sent to Longview Texas for burial.

Middletown Va March 31 burglars broke into the Larrick store by removing part of a front window.
