Charles H. Smith 56 a Winchester hauler shot himself in the chest at his home yard in West James street around 8:30 a m after reportedly stating he did not intend to work. He died within 20 minutes. The body was sent to Jones chapel for funeral services at 1 p m Saturday with burial in Mount Hebron.
