Brothers die within hours in Clarke and Jefferson counties
Two Clarke county natives, John Henry Huyette of Melrose Farm Berryville and Luther P. Huyette of Charles Town W Va died within 12 miles of each other. Luther died at 2.30 this morning after a long illness age 75 and John Henry died at 12.30 this afternoon after a monthlong illness. Their sister Bettie had died January 16. Luther leaves a widow two daughters and a son and siblings. John Henry was 69 and one of Clarke county’s wealthy landowners with multiple farms and Berryville real estate including the Clark Opera House. No funeral arrangements were set as of this afternoon.
