Young Farmer Drowned in Cedar Creek Near Smith's Mill
Roy G. Whetzel a 30 year old farmer drowned yesterday afternoon in Cedar Creek near Smith's Mill while attempting to ford the swollen stream. His body was recovered at Devil's Garden a mile below the mill at about six o'clock. The mule survived but the buggy remains unfound. Whetzel worked for W S Hiett near Marlboro and left a widow Alice Cof felt and four children. No funeral arrangements announced.
