Roanoke Virginia March 22 former Virginia House of Delegates member Raye O Lawson pleaded guilty in Hastings Court to grand larceny and embezzlement and received one year and a day in the state penitentiary. He admitted misappropriating 1066.44 while guardian for the children of Goodwin Brown deceased. He had previously been convicted last fall of embezzling 980 as guardian for the Brown children.

Mrs. Hannah M. Affleck widow of James R. Affleck died this morning at her home on the Valley Pike near the Cedar Creek Grade intersection after a long illness. Born August 16 1862 in Shaugh Priory England she was in her seventy fifth year. Her parents Thomas and Anna M Atrill Cook were also natives of England who moved to Frederick County years ago. Her husband long served as superintendent of the Frederick County parish farm. She was known for her concern for those at the home and their welfare. Funeral arrangements had not been completed.
