Dr Samuel K Carson former Riverton Virginia resident and long time Army medical corps officer died Friday in California. He served in the Spanish American War Philippine Insurrection and postwar medical roles including chief surgeon for Southern Pacific Railway and a veterans hospital system. He resided in Palo Alto after resigning from veterans service in 1926. He was born in County Fermanagh Ireland and educated at Randolph Macon College Troy Polytechnic Institute and the State University of Colombia medical school. He was 69.
