One Dead Two Hurt In Shenandoah County Plane Crash
A light Piper Cherokee 180 crashed on the north slope of North Mountain near Shenandoah County killing pilot Robert Smith of Sterling Park and injuring his wife Janet Smith and Laura Van Horn. Rescuers fought flames and bad visibility as they recovered victims and determined the crash occurred about 7:45 p.m. near Skibryce Airport, with no engine trouble found.
