Liquidation Proposed By Casey Aims to End Bank Holding Control
Eugene B. Casey of Clarke County, an 11 percent holder in Financial General Bankshares, wants liquidation of the holding company and for banks to buy back shares to regain local control. He estimates shareholders could receive 16 to 20 dollars per share, citing federal regs as a reason. Casey says the Lance group has discussed purchasing his shares. The holding company controls Shenandoah Valley National Bank of Winchester and others within 150 miles.
