Clarence Jorgensen a 34 year old tattoo artist impressed an army examiner with his body art showing on his right arm four star glamour girls and on his left Belle Starr with fighting eagles and racing horses. He said he had tattooed 10 000 persons and the examiner noted he had done well.
Prime Minister Churchill lauds U S aid bill as a New Magna Carta noting its passage by Congress and the President signatory. He cites it as a pledge of democratic strength against Nazi tyranny and a duty for free nations to share responsibility.

Dublin reports bombs dropped early today near Corndonagh and Innishowen in County Donegal by an unidentified plane with no damage. A British plane reportedly went down near Galway City and two survivors were interned. The raid marks a return after January 23 attacks that killed three and injured 12.

The appropriation estimate totals about 7 billion dollars with major allocations to air craft and aeronautical material at 2.054 billion and ordnance at 1.343 billion. Other large categories cover agricultural and industrial commodities, tanks and vehicles, vessels, miscellaneous equipment, defense production facilities, and defense article testing and repair costs. A provision allows the President to transfer up to 20 percent between categories.
