A heavy new snowstorm moved into Virginia with six inches to over a foot expected in places. Highways blocked by drifted snow. Frederick County schools plan to reopen as crews clear secondary roads. Snow accumulations likely over much of the state with bitter cold lingering tonight and into tomorrow.
The City Council moved to crack down on red line parking violators. An ordinance to amend the city code on parking violations was presented on its first and second readings. Police will enforce the rule within 20 feet of intersections and double parking will be penalized.
President Eisenhower has ordered no high level U S flights to Berlin despite Soviet objections. Secretary Herter said the three powers agree on a right to fly above 10 000 feet but no technical necessity now justifies such flights. He denied any firm plan to resume them and noted the measure was not tied to the Paris summit.
Senator Richard L. Neuberger of Oregon dies at his home after a cerebral hemorrhage. The 47 year old Democrat had just filed for re election, ending a long fight with illness. His death shifts Senate balance and triggers appointment and primary timing.

A rescue crew bypassed a mine fire four miles from Logan, estimating they are within 500 feet of 18 trapped miners barricaded inside. Island Creek Coal Co said the fire is under control and the effort gives renewed hope for a live rescue. Temperatures are in the teens with up to four inches of new snow forecast near the Kentucky border.
In Richmond two Senate measures face House committee votes. Finance panels consider raising the Virginia gas tax from 6 to 7 cents, with an estimated 12.5 million dollars for highway funds. The Ames annexation bill draws sharp debate over expansion limits for nearby cities and counties.
Sen John F Kennedy posts a record New Hampshire primary win with 42 909 Democratic votes while Richard Nixon tops the GOP with 65 077. The NH result marks the first of 16 state primaries and shifts momentum toward Kennedy as Nixon surpasses Eisenhower’s prior high.
F. L. Largent Jr a local attorney named president of the Rotary Club succeeding Dudley Lichliter July 1. Officers include Robert Heltzel George Snarr Jr Roy Baylis and David Simpson. Club luncheon tomorrow at 1 pm at George Washington high school followed by a public speech at 1 30 pm by Garland.
Princess Margaret and Antony Armstrong Jones will marry May 6 at Westminster Abbey with the Most Rev Geoffrey Fisher performing the rites. Prince Philip will give away the bride as crowds anticipate pageantry echoing Queen Elizabeth II's coronation. Scotland Yard increases security as London prepares for the ceremony.
Senators paused after the death of Sen. Richard L. Neuberger. Eulogies followed and a one day recess was set. The civil rights fight continued with a planned cloture vote and a renewed test of support from both parties as Southerners pressed for extended debate.

Berryville Town Council approved widening a section of N Church Street from Main to the Post Office by removing a 4 foot grass strip at the bank’s request. Estimated cost 1100 dollars. Work to start when weather allows. The town kept the same tax rate and allocated 1500 dollars to move the Town Office to the first floor, with the Mc Enders Fire Co. trucks housed there until the new fire hall is ready. Lonnie W Levin named to Planning Commission to replace J Edward Thomas. Reissue and transfer tags now 50 cents each. Snow delays noted and local ads offer furniture at Schewel.
