State Teachers Conference Held at Front Royal VA

A heavy fog and alleged failure to issue a train order caused a wreck on the Cumberland Valley Railroad in Hagerstown Md. Train No 1 struck a Norfolk and Western freight at 7:55 am injuring many passengers. The passenger engine was wrecked and several cars burned. a claim agent issued settlements from 1 to 100 dollars to about 35 passengers.

The First Troop of Boy Scouts rents the former Winchester Athletic Club quarters on North Main and will take possession mid month. Plans include a second floor cloud and third floor meeting room with showers and lockers. Merit badges and first class badges were awarded to several scouts. A bird box contest runs to March 15 with boxes on display March 16–23. A theater play at Empire Theater March 15 seats to go on sale March 12. Scouts expect a capacity audience.

Liquor Destroyed Under Court Order at City Hall
Judge Frank B. Whiting in the Corporation Court ordered the destruction of contraband liquor seized from Mapp prohibition violators.
