Use of Guns Is Penalized
Two police force members Carter Baker and C. M. Carden, newcomers, were suspended without pay for three days on the recommendation of Chief C. W. Hollis by Mayor Dr. C. R. Anderson for reckless use of firearms. The suspension followed a chase from North Kent street to the Martinsburg turnpike near the West Virginia line after 12 shots were fired at Willard Herrells car from Round Hill. A tire was shot out and bullets struck the car near the rear window and running board. Occupants were fined. Train Hits Stalled Sedan Killing Two in West Virginia
Two people died and three were injured when Baltimore and Ohio No. 1, the National Limited, struck a stalled sedan on Buffalo street crossing in Bowlesburg.
