Fire hits Cunard liner Berengaria in New York lounge
A blaze of undetermined origin swept the Berengaria first class lounge at the Fiftieth Street pier injuring one fireman slightly. Firemen estimated over 10 thousand dollars in damage to a 1090 foot long room with a piano and draperies damaged. 150 passengers aboard fled to upper decks as crews fought the fire for three hours with fireboats and land companies. The ship had docked the previous day and was to sail for Europe today.

Trunk Stolen From Auto At Kernstown Virginia
A steamer trunk containing clothing jewelry and valuables worth about 400 was stolen from the rear of a car at Kernstown Cabin Camp.
