Governor Moore visits distressed Lindbergh parents and states no contact with kidnappers. Police in New York and other cities ordered to stop cars with women and babies and to clear the Lindbergh estate area while investigating. House ablaze with light used as a beacon for thieves.
An air mail letter in Boston hinted the Lindbergh baby was held in a house near the kidnapping scene. Police read the note, declined to reveal location details, and pursued an elderly foreign woman believed linked to the mailing. Governor Moore said no contact with kidnappers had occurred and no fingerprints were found. The estate road was cleared and reporters removed as authorities sought the child's return with a $50,000 ransom potential.
Four Frederick residents were injured when a Chrysler brougham crashed through a fence and overturned near Millwood Clarke county. William Rose 31 and three others were treated at Winchester Memorial Hospital for head and facial injuries and fractures after a domestic dispute led to the driver being struck with a brick. Police continue to investigate with no arrests expected unless unlawful operation is found.
The Common Council announced a public hearing on the 1932 city budget at City Hall Council Chamber at 7 30 p m Tuesday evening March 8. Citizens may file objections to any item in the budget. It was corrected from an earlier erroneous date of March 1.
Charles Beck aged man died at Winchester Memorial Hospital from a cerebral hemorrhage. He had lived with Harry Orndorff in Opequon and was brought to the county home for care. His wife Pearl Beck in Oklahoma could not afford transport home, so the body was interred at the County Home cemetery after a committal service.
Revival services at Red Bud United Brethren Church ended last evening led by Rev. C J Racey. James H Hott of Winchester directed singing throughout the meeting with performances by Kirk Dick Fremont Dick Beulah Smith Berryville Misses Livengood and Mildred Smith.

John T. Martin, 87, longtime Brunswick figure and twice mayor, died in Brunswick today. He served the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for 68 years, advancing from trackman to general superintendent, leaving a legacy in local and railway circles.
Mr and Mrs W O Lutz and daughter Kathryn of Strasburg were in Winchester yesterday on business, visiting the city for operations and errands.
Leonard C. Russell died at his home near Chestnut Grove Frederick County after a brief illness. He was born July 16 1887, aged 45, longtime farmer in Chestnut Grove. He was a son of the late Eugene and Ellen Brown Russell. Survived by his widow a son and several brothers and sisters. Rites will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from Chestnut Grove Methodist Church with Rev Charles Wagner officiating. interment in the adjoining cemetery.
Harry K. Thaw, master of Kenilworth near Stephenson, left Winchester Memorial Hospital after admission for treatment of a fractured right arm from a February 25 automobile crash near Frederick Maryland. He had earlier been at Frederick City Hospital and then Kenilworth before moving to Winchester for special arm treatments.
Citizens of Winchester urged to attend a mass meeting at the George Washington Hotel tonight to plan the Ninth Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, an event since 1924 that honors the valley apple harvest. Nelson F. Richards and William E. Cooper say many outside business interests will be represented. officials expect record local turnout.
