The Hagerstown Herald reports R Gray Williams of Winchester urged Baltimore and Hagerstown bankers at a dinner for the First National Bank of Hagerstown to rekindle faith in longstanding constitutional principles. He warned that neglect could turn the flag’s stripes red and urged bankers to join the fight against radical doctrines. Emory L Coblentz and Senator Frank Mish praised the bank’s work.

Killing ducks geese or any migratory birds violates state and federal law with fines and penalties. Parents and teachers urged to educate children against killing birds and robbing nests. Judge M L McKinley broadened a Cook county grand jury to include Chicago City Hall, expanding the probe that already investigated school board affairs and indicted more than twenty people including Fred Lundin, former alderman and reputed boss in Hale Thompson’s organization.
Mrs Annie Keller Rhodes widow of J W Rhodes longtime farmer and bank director was buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery after funeral services at Grace Methodist Church South. Rev Hawk led rites. choir sang Home of the Soul and Asleep in Jesus. Pallbearers included James Larrick and others. Mrs Rhodes died of pneumonia at her son in law’s home in Harrisonburg as husband joined her there. Funeral procession traveled by auto to Middletown.
