Marines in heavy fighting near Hue and Phu Bai in Vietnam

U S Marines engaged a large Viet Cong force six miles southeast of Phu Bai while another two companies pressed a canal clearing operation 55 miles southeast of the North Vietnamese border. Air power dominated the day with B 52 strikes near Bien Hoa and Phuoc Tuy Province as overall casualties rose.

Maids of Honor Named for Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival

Miss Katie Boyd Glaize and Miss Mary Gillespie Scully, both of Winchester, will serve as Maids of Honor to Queen Shenandoah XXXIX at the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival on April 28 29 30. 60 MPH Winds Down Trees

The March lion blew in with gusts up to 60 mph, knocking down three trees in Winchester and causing scattered yard debris.
