Fire truck crash ends without serious injury to horses
The Friendship Fire Company's black horses narrowly escaped injury when a fire truck rammed a telephone pole at Cork Street and Indian Alley. Driver Edward Jones stopped the team. the truck tongue broke but the horses remained unharmed. Fire alarm came from the toll gate on the Northwestern Grade kept by Mrs. Anderson. a chimney blaze was extinguished with trifling loss.
