Frederick County Fair Opens with Big Week of Fun
The Frederick County Fair runs Aug 6 to 13 at the fair grounds on Rt 11. A nightly lineup includes Nightrider on Aug 9 with a Greased Pig Scramble, Special Ride Night, Army parachuting, and the Miss Frederick County Fair pageant. Aug 10 features the Horse and Pony Show, Aug 11 the Slippery Pig contest for women, and Aug 12 brings a noon gate opening, beef barbecue, and Banjo and Fiddle Contest. The Pet-A-Pet Park, home economics contests, cattle judging, and daily horseshoe pitching run throughout the week.
