Court Rules Out Confessions Of 3 Men Kept from Lawyers
The Supreme Court ruled that prolonged police questioning without access to a lawyer violated due process in three murder cases. Three Negro suspects were interrogated for days in relays, confessed, and were later overturned, with justices warning against coercive tactics and stressing evidence must be independently secured. The decision left open how long police may question a suspect, only condemning prolonged, controlled subjection.

Legal view on harsher penalty for striking someone wearing glasses
