Mrs. Bettie Eaton Dies at 70 in Baltimore
Mrs Bettie Eaton aged seventy mother of Mrs Harry Hardy of Winchester and a member of a prominent Hampshire county family died at her daughter Mrs Charles Toners home in Baltimore after an illness of advanced age. The body will be brought to Winchester by the B and O arriving tomorrow noon and taken to Timber Ridge for funeral services Sunday at Timber Ridge Christian Church. Joe Groves, who pleaded guilty in the Circuit Court to felonious assault, was sentenced to five years in the penitentiary and taken to prison this morning by a guard. The middle aged married man, from the western part of the country, told Sheriff Pannett he never before rode so long a train as to Richmond. After arrival in Richmond he will be assigned to a state road building camp for highway labor.

Army Aviators Forced Down in Fog Near Coronado
San Diego June 29 The airplane carrying Capt Lowell H Smith and Lieut J B Richter crashed into mud flats between Coronado and North Island as fog prevented further progress. Neither airman is seriously injured. They had stayed aloft almost 24 hours in their bid to set endurance records, their second failed attempt in two days.
