A Tale of Travel Memory and Ants at Belair
A narrator recalls a May morning in Virginia and a trip through historic sites near Washington. While resting under Belair Md, he observes a troupe of marching ants staging a theatrical performance around his cracker crumbs and muses on animal intelligence and human history. He ends with a whimsical nod to Edwin Booth and a line from the Boston Herald.
