Four Hurt In Valley Pike Collision Near Cedar Creek Bridge
Four people injured, two seriously, when a motorcycle driven by Gibson Shull and James Madigan collided with a truck driven by John Frederick near the Cedar Creek bridge on the Valley Pike. Shull, about 20, pelvis fracture and internal injuries, is in Memorial Hospital. Madigan, about 18, is badly cut but stable. Frederick is held for intoxicated driving. Gregory, a truck occupant, is jailed on drunkenness. Others, including Mrs Frances Kelison and Lewis Gregory, were aboard the truck.

Lucille Randolph a 9 year old daughter of Robert Randolph and wife died Saturday at 4 PM after a ten day illness from acute inflammatory rheumatism. She attended the Douglas School and is survived by her parents four brothers and sisters and a grandmother Lucy Finley. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 3 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church Millwood conducted by Rev Bailey with interment in the church cemetery.

Liquor Cases Heard In Police Court
Franklin Harris, colored, charged with possession of illegal whiskey, received a fine and costs totaling 35.25 in Police Court this morning. Judge Don ald Weems imposed the stiffest penalty among eight cases. Spectators filled the courtroom. Other convictions included drunkenness and disorderly conduct with fines and costs of 10.25 for Frank Byrd, Floyd Adams Gore, John Washington, Harry Magruder, Roland Miller, and Daniel Murray.

Whetzel Rites Conducted From Home Here
Funeral for Carey Gordon Whetzel, who died in a Richmond hospital, was held at his father-in-law James H. Myers home on Handley Avenue. Interment followed at Mount Hebron Cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. Dr Hubert Sydenstricker and Rev J E Oliver with two hymns listed. Whetzel, a Singers Glen native, was a well known building contractor in Frederick County and Shenandoah Valley regions, and helped reconstruct the new terminal and build a theatre and the George Washington Hotel annex.
