Federal government will conduct actual drafting using numbered registrants rather than names. British Make Raid Gains On Arras Front And Belgium
British forces renewed pressure in the Lene sector and in Belgium during the night. Ground was gained and held southwest of Lens on the Arras front and northwest of Warneton in Belgium. GALVESTON Tex June 25 Henry Sawyer a mulatto was seized by over 100 armed masked men from the county jail and hanged to a signboard beyond the city limits. Some men strangled him others riddled his body with bullets. Sawyer was accused of assaulting Mrs Carlton wife of a prominent businessman two months earlier.
