Three Felons Electrocuted for Slaying Officer Busch
Washington dispatch reports Nicholas Lee Eagles 32 Samuel Moreno 20 and John Proctor 19 executed today at District of Columbia jail for the September 1926 killing of Policeman Leo W. K. Busch after a gun battle with suspected hijackers. The case reached the Supreme Court and President Coolidge. Proctor was carried to death on a stretcher and Eagles sang Eli Eli before execution. Moreno went to the chair after Eagles. Proctor died two minutes later.
