Proposals Heard At Hotel Luncheon For Board Expansion
About forty board members met at the George Washington Hotel for the annual luncheon to elect officers and consider an expansion program once materials arrive. Dr. Hunter H. McGuire read the executive committee report as J. Sloan Kuykendall noted a 10 percent membership rule allowed the committee to act for the board under state law. New officers include Dr. James A. Miller as secretary replacing Dr H I Pifer. the committee was re elected with two new members bringing it to ten. The 1945 hospital workload rose with 133.1 daily patients versus 119.24 in 1944 and 49 529 patient days in 1945, plus 5 153 new admissions and 6 081 X ray exams.
