Mrs Affleck Takes Poison in Morning Incident
Mrs Frd Dodson Affleck the young wife of mill owner Norman Affleck swallowed two bichloride of mercury tablets at her Vatley avenue home about 10 30 am. She was taken to Memorial Hospital about 1 pm in critical condition two and a half hours after first aid. She hoped the tablets would relieve illness and did not know they contained mercury. Her sister Mrs Ruth Powers of New York City died Friday of tuberculosis and Mrs Affleck has been in a nervous state since. She is about 26, mother of a young girl, and is sister to Mrs George Perry of Hampton Va and to Miss Ivy Dodson. Her father Simeon Dodson died years ago.
